About Us

Hey everyone, my name is Kathrin or as most of you would call me Katie :)

I am from Germany and I have started the Bread Basket Denmark in 2023 as a home-based Micro Bakery. The two main reasons for me to start this little business were personally missing a good loaf of wholesome bread and second

following my fascination for bread to give something to this beautiful community.

I have loved baking and cooking for as long as I can remember. My bread journey genuinely began back in 2020 becoming obsessed with the process of Sourdough making during Covid. To answer a question I get asked a lot, I am a self-taught baker with a huge passion and am still learning so much every single day. 

I am very thankful for everyone who's been following my journey and really appreciate everyone's patience even though it hasn't always been perfect. I respect if any of you have suggestions and constructive criticism to help me grow.

Especially having such amazing grain farmers all around us we mainly use Goodies Farm Flour & Grains for wheat and rye as well as Mt. Barker Spelt Flour.

Furthermore all wholemeal that is used in our bread gets freshly milled with our own little Mill to provide maximum nutritional benefits.

We also supply a small number of cafés/ restaurants with our bread & pastries like the Burrata Woodfire Café in Albany and the The Green Pantry ( every Tuesdays).
